It was a tough start to the 2024-25 season for Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson. Through nine games in the month of October, Pettersson had just one goal, along with three assists and only 14 shots-on-goal.
As the calendar flipped to November, Elias Pettersson has looked like a different player. While he's not producing every night, he's playing much better overall and is a lot more active in the offensive zone, which is a positive sign for Rick Tocchet and the Canucks' coaching staff.
In a recent interview with Gunnar Nordstrom of Expressen - a media outlet in Sweden - Elias Pettersson shared that he made the decision to delete social media apps off his phone. Pettersson says it nice not reading Instagram anymore and that he's able to get more done at home without scrolling on social media.
As mentioned, Pettersson has looked a lot better in the month of November. In six games this month, the Sundsvall, Sweden native has five points - two multi-point games, as well as two games with six shots each.
With the way Elias Pettersson has been playing lately, it should give him a big confidence boost and help his chances of landing a spot on Sweden's roster for the 4 Nations Face-Off, which gets underway in mid-February in Montreal and Boston.
Pettersson and the Canucks will look to get back into the win column on Saturday night as they host North Vancouver native Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks at Rogers Arena. Puck drop is set for 7 pm PT.
