"Yeah, I never try to find excuses and I know Petey had a tough summer. He couldn't train at the level he wanted to train. He had an injury that held him back for quite a while and he had an okay camp." Brisson said.
He added, "To be fair, he's not happy with the way he's performed up to you know, he's had ups and downs during the first 50 games and he's got high expectations in himself and he's said it verbally in the last couple of weeks here. We know that he's a better player than what he's shown so far this year. But at the same time, he's applying a lot of pressure on himself."
"But Elias is still young, he's got a lot to offer and we all know that he's capable of having another fantastic year the way he did a couple years ago. There's still 25-30 games left and we always remember the last game of the season, there's still a lot of hockey to be played here and I'm very confident that he's going to be very solid here until the end of the season."
