After a successful tenure with the Boston Bruins, Jake DeBrusk decided to take his talents to Vancouver to join the Canucks, and his new(ish) teammates comment on him and the value he brings.

After the Boston Bruins decided to re-sign Jake DeBrusk due to the fact that they did not want to give him the contract he was demanding, he ended up signing a 7-year, $38 million contract with a cap hit of $5.5 Million per season.
Many think he is over paid, but in conjunction with the offensive talent, he brings a lot more to the table off the ice according to his teammates.

Vancouver Canucks players comment on Jake DeBrusk

DeBrusk may not be lighting the lamp by any means, but scoring 21 goals and 14 assists for 35 points in 59 games is nothing to lift your nose up at.
Jake DeBrusk's shot chart this season.

He is doing a good job travelling downhill from the left side at five-on-five and is excellent around the net at both five-on-five and on the power play
But as stated, DeBrusk is no longer the "new guy" in town and has taken on a leadership role within the Canucks locker room, especially with the injury to Captain Quinn Hughes.
Not only has DeBrusk found success on the ice this season, but he has also found comfort in the dressing room and quickly became a well-liked figure.

«He makes me laugh a lot,» said Myers. «He's got a different type of humour, which I think a lot of guys don't understand, but every time he opens his mouth, I seem to be laughing.

«Jake is a jokester,» said Dakota Joshua with a chuckle. «I would say he's a jokester off the ice, somebody that likes to keep it light and is never too serious. It seems like he never gets in a bad mood.»

Even Dakota Joshua backed up the same message.
«He is always settling the group down; he's never really too high or too low, but he just kind of keeps it steady in the middle,» said Joshua. «It's nice to have; he keeps it loose and gives the guys a laugh.»

The 28-year-old forward has been a beath a fresh air for the struggling Canucks this season, especially when he is leading the team in goals.
