Massive line brawl erupts on Broadway: Eight game misconducts
Eight players were ejected within seconds of puck drop as the Rangers vs Devils game on April 3 kicked off with a line brawl.
While heavyweights Matt Rempe and Kurtis MacDermid were expected to go, their linemates quickly made it a 10-man affair.
Refs deemed that the fight between Jimmy Vesey and Curtis Lazar was the first, and they deemed the remaining fights as secondary altercations with an automatic game misconduct.
For the Rangers; Matt Rempe, Barclay Goodrow, Jacob Trouba, and K'Andre Miller were given game misconducts while John Marino, Kevin Bahl, Kurtis MacDermid, and Tierney were tossed for the Devils.
Since Matt Rempe entered the picture in New York, games between the Devils and Rangers have been very physical and chippy.
The Devils acquired MacDermid shortly after a game where Rempe's hits and fights stole all the headlines.
The bad blood is far from over between these two nearby rivals.
