Once the end of the season comes, especially after a deep playoff run, it's not rare that players start wondering what their future may be.

As they move closer to 40, their families grow, and their bodies are getting heavier. Some like to call it while they're on top. It's the dilemma that long-time NHLer Paul Statsny is facing.

Taking some time to consider every option

The 37-year-old veteran signed a deal late in the 2022 off-season, hoping that he could get his hands on the Stanley Cup with the Canes. However, they ultimately fell short of the Panthers in the Conference finals.

Statsny was a Colorado Avalanche second-round pick (44) back in 2005. At that point, he was only known to be Peter Statsny's son. Since then, he's made quite the name for himself collecting 822 points in 1145 NHL Regular Season games. This year, he collected 22 points in 73 games spending his time mainly on the 3rd and 4th unit in Carolina.
