BREAKING | Major rumor is now confirmed: Kyle Dubas already has a new gig
We reported earlier they their had been rumblings sending the Leafs Former GM Kyle Dubas to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Now it seems that we're only waiting on the team's formal announcement. Josh Rimer, a close source to the Pittsburgh Franchise indicated the two parties were in the finalizing steps and closing in on a deal for Dubas to replace Hextall.
David Pagnotta, Insider from the 4th Period, confirmed the rumor on Twitter:
The Pens have one of the oldest core in the league with Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang. They'll be looking for a new wind in hopes that it takes them to their former glory.
The Pens missed the playoffs this year ending the longest active playoffs streak with 17 years.
