Controversy around the Canucks assurance goal and Edmonton's frustration about it
The Canucks parked the ship on a good note before heading to their Christmas break. The team sealed it with a 5-2 empty-netter win.
Edmonton is known to have a hardcore fan base and in Friday's tilt they were no exception. They've screamed controversy over the Canucks' 4th goal scored by Ilya Mikheyev. He received a beautiful feed from Captain Bo Horvat and wired it home.
Though the actual complaining came from just 13 seconds before, where the play came by Bruce Boudreau's bench and the Canucks were completing a line change.
The Edmonton Oilers have since then called for injustice and stated that the officiating was atrocious during that game. Looking closely enough though, if that goal had been called off, the Canucks still would have had a 3-2 lead! Go Canucks Go!
