HOT: The market for this young defenseman is heating up
It comes out as no surprise that players want out of Arizona. Though it's been quite some time since Jakob Chychrun made his resquest.
The left-handed defenseman is quite the catch. He's big, he's strong, he has a laser shot and he plays a good defensive game as well. He's the kind of defenseman you can build your team around. He's even affordable at $4.6M AAV until 2025.
The reports show that the current ask from the coyotes is:
"The Coyotes are asking for one upcoming first-round pick, one first-round selection from the past two years, a young roster player and they are willing to take on a bad contract if needed to facilitate the move."
That is extremely expensive, though teams are slowly realizing that it's the price to pay for such a talented player with that kind of AAV.
It's already been confirmed that the Los Angeles Kings, Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, Seattle Kraken and Ottawa Senators are in the race and in need of a defenseman.
Where should the Canucks stand on this? Could he take some minutes off Hughes?
