Hockey Insider Breaks News Of A Possible Jakob Chychrun Trade

We've got the latest on the Arizona Coyotes and defenceman Jakob Chychrun. Yesterday it was revealed that the Arizona Coyotes stated that Chychrun will NOT be traded ahead of the NHL's trade deadline day.

However, it looks like things might have changed as TSN's Hockey Insider Darren Dreger would reveal the Washington Capitals have entered the Jakob Chychrun sweepstakes and are very interested in acquiring him.

The Capitals have picked up some draft picks and cleared some cap space trading defenceman Dmitry Orlov and forward Garnet Hathaway to the Boston Bruins Thursday they definitely could make the Coyotes a good offer.

Dreger would go on to say this about the Capitals and Coyotes possible trade:

"It's clear the Capitals are hoping to reset on the fly. Jake Chychrun is a player of interest for Washington. Including the 1st acquired from Boston, the Caps have the pick currency to make it work. The Chychrun saga has been ongoing since Nov, 2021."

This would be a good move by the Capitals acquiring a young talent that could be the top guy on the Capitals blue line. But most of all it would finally get Chychrun free from the Coyotes. The poor kid has requested a trade over frustrations of the team's constant rebuild, but despite numerous teams inquiring about Chychrun the no trades have come to futrition.
