The Blackhawks and the Maple Leafs matched for a trade involving high draft picks, Jake McCabe and Sam Lafferty before the most recent deadline. One of the side assets of this deal involved Pavel Gogovel.
Per the Hawks' announcement, it appears that they've just sent the forward down the waivers for the purpose of contract termination.
Gogolev had managed 48 points in 33 games with the Newfoundland Growlers, since he had joined the Hawks' organization he took parts in 2 games and registered 1 goal.
