LATEST | Former Canucks forward looking to make NHL return after three years in Russia
After spending the last three seasons in the KHL, former Vancouver Canucks forward Nikolay Goldobin is looking to make a return to the National Hockey League.
Goldobin's agent Sergei Isakov confirmed the news in recent days, saying that his client already has NHL teams interested in him.
"Nikolai decided to continue his career in the NHL, and you just have to respect this. He played in Magnitogorsk for several years, a desire to go appeared. There are clubs that are interested in him there. He is a guy with a head and character, so I think he will succeed." Isakov said.
Goldobin, 27, just completed his third season in the KHL after returning to Russia from the NHL back in 2020. In 59 games for Metallurg Magnitogorsk this season, Goldobin had 36 points (19 goals, 17 assists), 35 penalty minutes and was a plus-one.
The Moscow native was a first-round pick of the San Jose Sharks back in 2014, but was dealt to the Canucks during the 2016-17 season. In 114 games with the Canucks between 2017 and 2020, he put up 44 points (18 goals, 26 assists) and 24 penalty minutes.
