MAJOR | Another Canuck will be taking part in the Men's World Championship
Since the Canucks' season came to an end sooner than first anticipated, the players will be eligible to represent their nations in the Men's World Championship that will be starting on the 12th.
Ethan Bear (Canada), Conor Garland (United States), and Elias Pettersson (Sweden), had said yes to participate in the World Championships, however, Pettersson had to refuse to participate due to insurance issues.
It appears that Hockey Canada has now extended an invitation to the Canucks' big-format defenseman, Tyler Myers. His agent J.P. Barry confirmed the information to Patrick Johnston of the Province. It'll be Myers' first appearance at the Worlds Championship since 2014, back when Kevin Bieksa actually captained the team.
Myers had 18 points in 76 games this season and will be playing the last year of a $30M contract he signed in 2019. There are lots of rumblings going around suggesting that Myers would be the player the Canucks chose to shed some cap space, is this an opportunity for him to prove his worth?
