LATEST | Former Vancouver Canucks forward signs new NHL contract
Despite being on an NHL contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs this past season, former Vancouver Canucks forward Adam Gaudette spent the entire year in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies and Springfield Falcons.
But Gaudette had a strong season down in the AHL, one which has now earned him an NHL contract with the St. Louis Blues.
The Blues announced on Wednesday that they've signed Gaudette to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2023-24 season worth $775,000.
Gaudette, 26, was drafted by the Canucks in 2015 and spent parts of four seasons with Vancouver, before being shipped to the Chicago Blackhawks in April 2021. Gaudette then was claimed off waivers by Ottawa in November 2021 before signing with the Toronto Maple Leafs last summer.
In 65 AHL games between the Toronto Marlies and Springfield Falcons, the Braintree, Massachusetts native had 51 points (27 goals, 24 assists), 57 penalty minutes and was a plus-seven.
