LATEST | Legendary F1 racer to make appearance a decade after devastating accident
While we may be a hockey site, it's always great to hear feel good stories from other professional sports around the world and when it comes to former Formula 1 racer Michael Schumacher, many fans have been wondering how he's doing.
For those who aren't familiar with Schumacher, he was a legendary Formula 1 racer from 1991 to 2006, before returning to the sport from 2010 to 2012. In his career he won seven championships.
After Schumacher retired, he suffered a devastating injury. While skiing with his son in the French Alps, Schumacher fell and hit his head on a rock, which left him in serious condition. He was flown to a French hospital where he was placed into a medically induced coma, which he was in for several months, and had two surgeries on his brain.
While Schumacher has stayed out of the public eye for the last decade, which is understandable, it appears that he will be making his first appearance in over ten years.
According to Sports Illustrated, Schumacher's daughter is set to get married later this year at a villa in Spain, with the former F1 racer set to attend.
Not matter which sport you're a fan of, everyone is hoping that Michael Schumacher is doing well and happy in life right now.
