LATEST | Thousand game NHL veteran facing fifty years of jailtime
Former NHLer Mike Ribeiro could be facing as much as 50 years in prison as he faces charges of sexual assault.
The 43 year old is accused of sexually assaulting two women and attempting to assault a third, with all three alleged incidents taking place on Lake Cypress Springs on June 23, 2021.
The third woman took the stand on Thursday, and if Ribeiro is convicted of all the crimes he has been accused he could face as much as 50 years behind bars.
Ribeiro played over 1000 games in the NHL between the Canadiens, Stars, Capitals, Coyotes, and Predators.
He was a premiere offensive threat for several years with the Stars, but faced struggles with substance abuse.
This isn't the first time he has been accused of sexual assault, facing accusations from a former nanny in 2014.
