Following the game, Jets Head Coach Rick Bowness met with the media and didn't mince his words when talking about the team's effort level in the series.
Bowness' frustration is completely understandable, although a few injuries hampered the Jets during their first round series, the overall effort from the team was not there and they were beaten by a much better Vegas Golden Knights team.
The Jets' bench boss has two more years remaining on his contract and it's unlikely he leaves the organization, but in terms of the management side of things, it'll be interesting to see what happens with long-time General Manager Kevin Cheveldayoff, who's been with the team since moving to Winnipeg in 2011.. While he's also under contact for two more seasons, the Jets may want a new voice for that role after underachieving this season.
It could be a summer of change for the Jets as heading into next season, four big names on their roster will be in the final year of their contracts - Pierre-Luc Dubois, Connor Hellebuyck, Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler. The most likely to be on the move in the coming months is Dubois and he's been linked to the Montreal Canadiens, where he's expressed a desire to play.
As for Hellebuyck, Scheifele and Wheeler, it's unclear what happens to them. There's a good chance that they could part ways with Wheeler, the team's former captain and could try to lock up both Hellebuyck and Scheifele to contract extensions, which they're eligible to sign as of July 1st.
