A player who is garnering a lot of trade talk due to his play, leadership on and off the ice, and relatively cheap cap hit is Luke Schenn. This has caught the attention around the league so much that Schenn's agent, Ben Hankinson, seemingly threw out Schenn's resume on twitter.
Hankinson later corrected his tweet later that day just mentioning he was pointing out Schenn's assets. Teams around the league don't really need a player's agent to be pumping his clients tires, as Luke is basically worth his weight in gold to the Canucks rights now.
But this does beg the question, though Patrick Allvin stated last year that no player on the last year of his contract will go for nothing (see Tyler Motte). Given how wanted Schenn is right now, why not trade him and then resign him on July 1st?
The going rate could be as high as a 2nd round pick...
