Most recently, we did a story on Michael Russo's comments indicating that Elias Pettersson may want out of Vancouver for «behind-the-scenes reasons». The recent handling of the management's group toward Bruce Boudreau surely doesn't help their case.
It was also presumed that Pettersson and Miller were not the best of friends and it was one of the main reasons why they had only spent a few moments on the same line. Last night in the game against the Oilers, Miller was once again caught slamming his stick around on the bench and the reaction on Kuzmenko and Pettersson's faces clearly says it all:
The Canucks will formally Rick Tocchet has the team's new head coach in a few minutes. Hopefully, it'll raise morale and help in building a new culture in this locker room. Pettersson will come to a point in his career, just like Horvat, when winning becomes the main thing and if they fail to turn things around in the next year. Elias Pettersson may not want to re-sign long-term with the team, whatever amount of money he's offered.
Will Rick Tocchet turn things around in Vancouver? Will he keep Miller in check?
