Tonight when the Canucks take home ice vs the Devils, they will do so without spark plug Kyle Burroughs in the lineup. Burroughs has been one of the team's grittiest defensemen through 9 games, dropping the gloves on a pair of occasions and adding a goal for good measure.
Back in the lineup in his favour, albeit a no brainer move, is All-Star Quinn Hughes returning after missing 4 games along with newly acquired Ethan Bear. Bear is taking the spot of Jack Rathbone as the Canucks now find themselves with a small embarrassment of riches at the defence position.
Jack Rathbone, Kyle Burroughs and Brock Boeser appear to be staying on the ice late following optional skate.
Usually a good indication of which players are trending toward being scratched on game day. #Canucks Thomas Drance (@ThomasDrance) November 1, 2022
The Athletic's Thomas Drance tweeted out the 3 skaters on after the main bunch from practice at the Rog' this morning. As he said, it's a good indication both Burroughs & Rathbone, along with Brock Boeser who appears to be closer to returning, will all miss game action tonight.
