The Vancouver Canucks have missed a major opportunity to upgrade their defense as Dante Fabbro has been claimed off waivers by the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Fabbro, who has been victim of being healthy scratched by the Predators, seemed like like his days could be numbered in Nashville. The 26-year-old right handed d-man has spent his entire 7-year NHL career with the Preds, where they clearly had high hopes, selecting him 17th overall back in 2016.
Vancouver Canucks Missed a Golden Opportunity to Upgrade Their Defense
One name that has been constantly mentioned was that of Dante Fabbro. It is no question that Vancouver needs to fix the right side of the blue line, and with Fabbro still having tremendous upside, and advanced analytics to back it up, it was believed that with him on waivers, it was a golden opportunity for the team to snatch him up.
Unfortunately, whether it was slow acting by Allvin or the quick finger of the Blue Jackets, the Canucks lost out on what could have been a huge move to upgrade their defense.
