LATEST | Canucks prospect Jonathan Lekkerimaki has incredible performance on Saturday
Vancouver Canucks prospect Jonathan Lekkerimaki was in action in the Swedish Hockey League on Saturday with his club Orebro HK.
During Saturday's game against Vaxjo, Lekkerimaki played very well and in a nine second span, recorded an assist, followed by a goal, which was highlighted by the Swedish Hockey League on X.
Note: the following is translated from Swedish.
"In just 9 (!) seconds it turns
@orebrohockey on the grill! 🧑🍳 First a reduction by Linus Arnesson and here an equalizer by Jonathan Lekkerimäki 💪"
In 24 games this season, Lekkerimaki has 16 points (ten goals, six assists), along with eight penalty minutes.
It's great to see Lekkerimaki heating up again, just as he's about to head off to join the Swedish U20 team for the 2024 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship, which gets underway on December 26th. Lekkerimaki will be joined by fellow Canucks prospects Tom Willander and Elias Pettersson on Sweden's roster and Canucks fans will be able to watch them all tournament long on TSN.
