LATEST | Former Canucks captain Bo Horvat nets beautiful OT winner with very special meaning
It's almost been a year since the Canucks traded their captain to Long Island where the Islanders took him in with welcoming arms. Horvat signed a hefty eight-year deal and he's been performing as well as one could hope for with his new colours.
ANOTHER COACHING CHANGE FOR BO?
Moments before he was traded last year, the Canucks had just announced that Bruce Boudreau had been replaced by Rick Tocchet. Bo Horvat will once again be living à coaching change since the Islanders announced yesterday that Lane Lambert had been let got and that the legendary Patrick Roy would be taking over:
Today marked Roy's first start behind the Islanders' bench and the former Canucks came in clutch and scored a beautiful goal in overtime. Sealing the deal for his new coach's first W behind the Isles' bench:
Horvat now has 19 goals and 43 points in 44 outings with his new club. His current pace has him finishing the year with 77 points, upping the mark from the 70 he scored last year.
