The Vancouver Canucks have re-signed general manager Patrik Allvin to a multi-year extension.

The exact terms of the extension have not been made public at this time.

President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford, also recently extended by the team, said Allvin's impact on the team has been tremendous and that he'll be a key driver moving forward..

Patrik has done a terrific job in helping us rebuild our hockey team both on and off the ice,
Rutherford said.
He has worked tirelessly to create a new culture and identity that embodies the important attributes of hard work, structure and dedication.

Allvin joined the Canucks just over two years ago after 16 seasons with the Penguins as a scout or assistant GM.

He has overseen significant contract extensions for players like JT Miller and Brock Boeser, and key trades including dealing captain Bo Horvat and later acquiring Filip Hronek.

The GM is schedule to have a media availability at 11 am PST.
