LATEST | Four Canucks named on TSN's mid-season player rankings
The Vancouver Canucks are off this week as six members of the organization head to Toronto, Ontario for the 2024 NHL All-Star festivities.
On Tuesday however, four Vancouver Canucks players found themselves highlighted on TSN's mid-season rankings list, which was focusing on the 25 best players in the National Hockey League at this point in the campaign.
The first Canuck on the list is captain Quinn Hughes, who sits at sixth, followed by Elias Pettersson who TSN has in the tenth spot.
"- No. 5 Cale Makar and No. 6 Quinn Hughes are on pace to become the first two defencemen to earn 100 points in the same season and are separated by a single voting point in TSN balloting
- No. 10 and impending restricted free agent Elias Pettersson is setting himself up for a massive payday; he's on pace for career highs in goals (45) and points (107)" J.T. Miller, who's on pace to put up 100+ points for the first time in his career lands at the 12th spot on TSN's list. Miller currently lead the Canucks in points with 67.
The final member of the Vancouver Canucks named to TSN's list is goaltender Thatcher Demko, who sits at 18th, and is one of only two goalies named, the other being Connor Hellebuyck of the Winnipeg Jets.
"Other noteworthy results include:
- Vancouver's Thatcher Demko (No. 18 ) is the only goalie other than Hellebuyck to make the Top 25.
- Colorado has three players among the top eight (MacKinnon, Makar, Rantanen) and Vancouver, three among the first 12 (Hughes, Pettersson, No. 12 J.T. Miller). Miller is the highest-ranked player to not make the pre-season Top 50."
