BREAKING | Former Canuck Spencer Martin claimed off waivers
Former Canuck goaltender Spencer Martin has been claimed off waivers, again.
After being waived by the Columbus Blue Jackets yesterday, the Carolina Hurricanes will add Martin to a stable of goaltenders that have been a weak point for the team.
It's the second time this season Martin has been claimed off waivers, with the Jackets claiming him from Vancouver on September 29.
Martin played in 35 games for the Canucks over the course of two seasons and 41 with their AHL affiliate.
In Columbus this season he posted a 3-8-1 record with an .887 save percentage.
With Frederik Andersen's return unclear as he deals with a blood clot issue, the Hurricanes will hope to strike gold with a waiver claim before resorting to the trade market.
