LATEST | Canucks continue to lead Canadian teams in recent power rankings
The Vancouver Canucks had a very strong week on the ice, going 3-1-0 (6 points) following wins against the Edmonton Oilers, Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens.
On Monday, TSN revealed their most recent power rankings article and while the Canucks may have dropped one spot from third to fourth, they still remain as the highest Canadian team on their list.
"The Vancouver Canucks are the highest-ranked Canadian team for a second straight week, falling one spot to fourth overall. The slight drop has less to do with their performance, 3-1-0 last week, and more to do with top teams around them.
The Canucks are solid and goal and are playing strong defensive hockey. Vancouver's 4.40 goals per game is the best in the NHL, but far outpaces its 3.19 expected goals per game which ranks 18th. That differential of 1.21 goals between process and results is by far the biggest in the league and, as it normalizes in a larger sample, the Canucks will need to lean on their defensive play to continue to win games at a similar rate."
The Canucks returned home from their three-game road trip in Eastern Canada following last night's game against Montreal. This week, they'll take on Bo Horvat and the New York Islanders (November 15th), Calgary Flames (November 16th) and Seattle Kraken (November 18th).
