The news just broke, Patrik Allvin issued a statement via the Canucks' Twitter account acknowledging that Derek Clancey had decided to part ways with the Canucks' organization to join Brad Treliving and the Maple Leafs:

«We would like to thank Derek Clancey for the work he has done for the Vancouver Canucks. We wish him nothing but the best as he starts a new chapter is his hockey career. « - Patrik Allvin

Clancey was one of the team's multiple assistant general manager, he had been with the Canucks during the 2022-2023 campaign. He had spent the majority of his career with the Penguins where he crossed paths with Allvin and Rutherford.

The Leafs issued this statement just moments ago announcing that they had hired him:

'We've hired Derek Clancey as Assistant General Manager, Player Personnel''

At this moment, the Canucks have no intention of replacing Clancey.
