LATEST | Canucks make an announcement regarding their new 6'6'' winger Vilmer Alriksson
The Canucks really went outside the box in this year's draft with their latter picks. They used their selection and drafted an unknown Swede named Vilmer Alriksson, a 6'6'' giant with great stickhandling abilities.
In light of their building Blue program, the Canucks issued another edition today now focuses on their new giant:
«For being a big guy, he's really fluid and smooth and has a good release.»
This edition of #BuildingBlue focuses on Swedish prospect, Vilmer Alriksson.
There is much to like about this selection, since bigger sized players tend to develop later. The scouting reports on Alriksson are quite promising and the Canucks may have made an excellent selection with their 4th rounder:
''The 6-foot-6 winger is a capable skater. He finds open space in all three zones that helps him drive an attack. Beating defenders with body fakes off the rush or flashing intriguing shooting skill from in tight.''
Alriksson will be starting his transition to the North-American game this season since he'll be joining the Guelph Storm, a team that could be aspiring to high honours in the OHL with many NHL draft picks on their line-up.
