Hockey leagues around North America and the World have already dropped the puck on their new seasons and for Canucks fans, they've gotten a good look at some of the team's prospects thus far.

In the Western Hockey League, goaltending prospect Ty Young, who's playing for the Prince George Cougars, is off to a hockey start to the 2023-24 campaign.

So far, Young has appeared in three games for the Cougars, where he's sported a 3-0-0 record along with a very respectable 2.34 goals against average, an .892 save percentage and has made 58 saves.

While it's still early, it's very encouraging to see one of the Canucks' prospects have success so far this season. Young was drafted by the Canucks in the fifth round back in 2022 and is apart of a prospect pool that features Arturs Silovs and Nikita Tolopilo as potential goaltenders of the future in Vancouver.

Young had a pretty good showing early on in training camp, which earned him a three-year, entry-level contract with the team. If he's able to continue his strong play over the next couple of months, Young could receive a call from Hockey Canada inviting him to their World Junior Selection Camp, which is usually held in early-December.
