LATEST | Elias Pettersson adopted an essential change to his preparation: He's definitely ready for more
The Canucks always knew they landed a superstar when they made Elias Pettersson the 5th overall pick in 2017. One thing he's always been criticized on is his frail physique and during an interview with the infamous Sportsnet Insider Elliotte Friedman. Pettey revealed that he was making a priority of it:
CANUCKS' TOP PLAYER BULKING UP?
The Canucks' number 40 indicated that he had changed his training, his trainer and his diet radically. Here's how the exchange went:
''One thing he's changed is his training. He's bulked up, eating 5,000 calories a day. On the boat, he brought his own meal: cabbage, raddish, shrimp, edamame and white rice. There was a sauce too, but he wasn't sure of the ingredients.
Have you ever eaten like that before? «No,» but he has a new trainer and «got a few muscles. It's almost like I got brainwashed and always want to eat (properly).»
The changes are apparent since the centerman has been caught gaining physical advantages. He's taking the next step in his career and intends on delivering big time. As everyone knows, Pettey is due for a massive raise, and he's making sure he'll be worth every penny of it.
Already up to 10 points after six games, Pettersson is locked up on taking his team to the playoffs. He mentioned that his only goal was to play meaningful spring games, but if he managed to score 50 goals along the way, he'd be satisfied.
