According to reports, former Vancouver Canucks defenceman Nikita Tryamkin has agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension with HC Avtomobilist.

Tryamkin, 28, told sport-express.ru in May that he was expecting calls from teams in North America about a potential return, but ultimately, nothing materialized.

"I'm waiting for a call from across the ocean, but I confess that I'm not going to wait long. And if it is not, then I will instruct the agents to look at the Russian options." Tryamkin said in May.

The Yekaterinburg native was drafted by the Canucks 66th overall back in 2014 and went on to appear in 79 games for the organization between the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. In those 79 games, Tryamkin had 11 points (three goals, eight assists), 74 penalty minutes and was a minus-ten.
