Garland's current cap hit stands at $4.95M, it was suggested that the Canucks were ready to retain some salary on the diminutive format winger, but talks aren't going anywhere.

Early reports suggested that the Bear's injury would be healed and he'd be ready to return in December. Will the Canucks make room to sign him then?
