LATEST | Insider updates on Andrei Kuzmenko's situation with the Canucks
Andrei Kuzmenko's season hasn't gone as many had expected, including himself, which has led to decreases in ice-time, as well as a couple of games in the press box as a healthy scratch.
On Saturday night, during the second intermission on Hockey Night in Canada, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman revealed that teams were calling Patrik Allvin to inquire about Kuzmenko and on Monday's 32 Thoughts podcast, he echoed the same.
"32 Thoughts Podcast: There have been some conversations between Vancouver and some teams on Kuzmenko, "What are we thinking here"? Elliotte also says it's probably too soon (on trading him). #Canucks #NHL #NHLHockey"
Kuzmenko, 27, has one year remaining on his contract after the 2023-24 season with a cap hit of $5.5 million. Moving Kuzmenko may be tricky due to the cap hit, but given his age and what he's able to do when he's on the top of his game, it should certainly intrigue many teams around the National Hockey League.
So far this season, Yakutsk, Russia native has appeared in 25 games, putting up 15 points (four goals, 11 assists), two penalty minutes and has an even-rating.
