LATEST | Vancouver Canucks on the rise in TSN's Power Rankings
The Vancouver Canucks had a very succuessifl last seven days, as they racked up four wins between January 8th and January 13th, defeating the New York Rangers, New York Islanders, Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres.
On Monday morning, the Canucks saw their strong play rewarded, as TSN revealed their new Power Rankings which saw Vancouver rise to the third spot, only behind the Florida Panthers, who are second, and Winnipeg Jets, who sit in first place.
"Up four spots to third place on our list are the Vancouver Canucks. Vancouver went a perfect 4-0 last week as it continues its Eastern road trip with an afternoon game in Columbus on Monday. The Canucks have the best goal differential in the NHL and will be sending five players (Elias Pettersson, Quinn Hughes, Brock Boeser, J.T. Miller and Thatcher Demko) to the All-Star Game in Toronto." Canucks forward Elias Pettersson was undoubtedly the team's best player over the last week. In the first three games of the week, Pettersson had nine points, including a pair of four-point performances, before not recording any in the team's 1-0 win over Buffalo.
The four wins also saw the Canucks retake the top spot in the National Hockey League standings with a record of 29-11-3 (61 points) through 43 games.
Vancouver will wrap up their road trip on Monday at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Viewers will be able to watch the game on Sportsnet Pacific.
