Injury Update on Tyler Myers
As the Canucks begin their first road trip of the season where they will face the Tampa Bay Lightning, Florida Panthers, Philadelphia Flyers and Chicago Blackhawk, Rick Tocchet announced that Tyler Myers will be joining the team and has already started skating.
«He actually felt pretty good,» Tocchet said about his injured defenseman. «I mean, there's still a little bit of stuff there, but we're very fortunate we dodged a bullet to see him out there skating after last game. I think it was initial shock, but he feels pretty good.»
This is great news for Vancouver as they were already a tad bit thin with their depth on the right side of the blue line with Filip Hronek, Myers, Vincent Desharnais and Noah Juulsen.
Mark Friedman and Jett Woo are currently the next two in line for a call up on that side of the defense, but it is encouraging for Myers that the team has yet to call up a replacement which indicated the do not expect him to be out for very long.
It was just disclosed that Myers is now considered a game time decsion and is available to play if he feels he is ready.
Rick Tocchet notes Tyler Myers is a possibility for tonight's game.
