All season long JT Miller has been involved in trade rumors, mainly due to the ongoing issues and rift he is having with fellow teammate Elias Pettersson.

"Things had progressed to a certain point where it definitely looked like he wasn't going to play," Friedman added.

NHL Insider Elliotte Freidman made it official that the Canucks had a deal in place that would send Miller to the New York Rangers and it was it was expected that he would not be playing.

Whether it is because of the rift with Pettersson, the issues of the Vancouver market or just plain lack of motivation, it is a major shame that the issues with Miller are apparently not going to be worked out.

He has been the emotional heartbeat of the team since he landed here and to lose a player of his caliber is going to be hard to replace.
