With the trade deadline only five days away, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman revealed what the Vancouver Canucks are looking to add to their roster.

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin got plenty of work done at the end of January on the trade market by moving J.T. Miller to the Rangers and acquiring Marcus Pettersson in a deal with the Penguins, but it doesn't look like he's done yet.

Elliotte Friedman shares where Vancouver Canucks want to add before trade deadline

During last night's edition of Saturday Headlines, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman shared that Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin would like to add a forward to his roster.
"The Canucks have a situation where they're looking to add to their forward group, whether it's now or later," Friedman said.

Vancouver has been linked to a number of forwards on the trade market, including Buffalo's Dylan Cozens, Kyle Palmieri of the New York Islanders, and Trent Frederic of the Boston Bruins, who is out week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

Updates on forwards Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser

Elliotte Friedman also gave updates on Vancouver Canucks forwards Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser heading into the deadline, both of whom have been mentioned in trade rumors for some time now.
Friedman shared that, while anything can happen with just one phone call, he's not expecting anything to happen with Elias Pettersson before the March 7th trade deadline.
"Anything can happen at this time of year, we've learned that one phone call can change everything," Friedman said. "But I'm not expecting anything to happen with Pettersson."

As for Brock Boeser, his future in Vancouver is up in the air as Friedman is reporting that there haven't been talks in a while and that his camp and the Canucks are open to all options over the next five days.
"It was reported earlier this week there was a five-times-eight offer not taken, I understand that was earlier in the season, in the first half of the year," Friedman said. "I don't think there have been talks for a while. We'll see where this goes over the next few days, but I think both team and player are expecting all options to be open - whether that's trade, keep or sign."

Canucks Daily will have full coverage of the National Hockey League's trade deadline next Friday, along with any deals, news and rumors involving the Vancouver Canucks.
