Former Vancouver Canucks Goalie Had Plenty to Say About Rick Tocchet's Ability Amid Recent Criticism

Former Vancouver Canucks goaltender Eddie Lack has come to the defense of head coach Rick Tocchet following recent criticism from fans on social media.
Following Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Dallas Stars, Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet came out and was critical of a few of his players, was critical of a few of his players, after reducing ice time for Brock Boeser, Jake DeBrusk and Elias Pettersson.
The decision to reduce the trio's ice time on Sunday drew plenty of criticism from fans on X and former Vancouver Canuck Eddie Lack has had enough with blaming the coach.

Fans on social media weren't too happy with Rick Tocchet reducing the ice time and essentially benching three of his key forwards when the team is struggling to produce offensively and is trying to remain in the hunt for a playoff spot in the Western Conference.
"The #Canucks are in the middle of a playoff push and the coach is benching their best players to prove a point.
Maybe Tocchet should look at himself in the mirror and recognize that he's simply not an NHL head coach.

Eddie Lack, who spent two seasons in Vancouver and knows exactly how the fan base is, came to the defense of Rick Tocchet in the comments section of Sapsterr's post.
Lack said it's "such a Canucks thing" to blame the coach and at some point, it has to be on the players to get going.
"Such a Canuck thing to blame your coach who won the Jack Adams award less than a year ago.

Tonight, the Vancouver Canucks will take on the Montreal Canadiens in an all-Canadian clash at Rogers Arena and it'll be the perfect opportunity for Brock Boeser, Jake DeBrusk and Elias Pettersson to come out and prove to Rick Tocchet that they're worthy of more ice time.
