The National Hockey League's trade deadline is just ten days away and we could be entering the final week with Brock Boeser as a member of the Vancouver Canucks.
Last month,
it was reported that teams around the National Hockey League are expecting Brock Boeser to be available at the trade deadline with contract talks between his camp and the Vancouver Canucks almost non-existent.
Four teams mentioned as potential landing spots for Brock Boeser
Brock Boeser said recently that he's trying
to tune out trade rumors for the time being, but with the deadline quickly approaching, it's going to be harder for him to do that, especially as teams will begin calling Patrik Allvin to see what the cost to acquire the 28-year-old forward.
In a recent article on Sportsnet, Courtney Jacobsen took a look at four potential landing spots for Brock Boeser, if he is dealt by the Vancouver Canucks before 12 pm PT next Friday.
Jacobsen mentions the Minnesota Wild, Florida Panthers, Los Angeles Kings and Utah Hockey Club as teams that could be in the mix for Brock Boeser.
For a team like the Los Angeles Kings, who are 22nd in the National Hockey League in 'Goals For' this season, Jacobsen says that Brock Boeser could be big help for their power play, which is second-last in the Western Conference.
"So how would Boeser fit? For starters, he could assist in sparking their dismal power play, which sits at 15.2 per cent and is good for second-worst in the Western Conference, behind only bottom-feeding Anaheim. Boeser has 14 power-play points so far this season, hit a career-high of 25 last season and has never dipped below 14 in a full year. He's also got 40 power-play goals since the 2021-22 season, despite missing some games in nearly every year in that time." Jacobsen said.
The possibility of returning to his home state and playing for the Minnesota Wild is also an intriguing opportunity for Brock Boeser, especially due to the fact that
Kirill Kaprizov will be out longer than expected and with
Joel Eriksson Ek being placed on IR this morning.
It could be a busy trade deadline for Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin and it's going to be interesting to see where Brock Boeser ends up, if the organization decides to deal him, rather than re-signing him or keeping him as their own rental.
