Elias Pettersson took a step back in terms of his production last season after putting up 102 points in the previous season. He was still able to put up over a point per game in 2023-24, but noise off the ice regarding his contract situation and a knee injury he sustained in January were big factors in his not reaching the 100-point mark for a second consecutive year.
On Tuesday's edition of Sekeres and Price, John Shannon said that he believes Elias Pettersson will bounce back in 2024-25 and will have a great season, equal to what J.T. Miller did this past year, putting up 103 points in 81 games.
Last season, Pettersson put up 89 points (34 goals, 55 assists), 12 penalty minutes and was a plus-20 in 81 games during the regular season. In the Stanley Cup Playoffs, that's where Pettersson said his injury caught up to him, only registering one goal and six points in 13 games.
There's no doubt Elias Pettersson will have a strong 2024-25 campaign and it's going to be interesting to see who Rick Tocchet puts on his line at the start of the season in October, one of those players could potentially be the Canucks' big free agent signing - Jake DeBrusk.
