It was just announced earlier that the Canucks had, for the first time, recalled the local hero Arshdeep Bains. Off to a solid start in Abbotsford, his efforts were finally rewarded with an opportunity to practice with the NHLers and, perhaps, show his worth in a game.
AN ANNOUNCEMENT HAS BEEN MADE ON BAINS AND THE CANUCKS
His future usage with the Canucks has not yet been addressed, but an announcement has been made regarding Bains and the Canucks. Currently harbouring J.T. Miller's number 9 in Abbotsford, it was just announced that Bains would be the first ever Canuck to wear the number 80:

Bains currently leads the Abbotsford Canucks in points and has most likely been his team's most valuable player since the season started. It'll be extremely interesting to see whether or not he gets an opportunity to play with the big boys.
