The NHL doesn't want to see any kind of retribution taken between the Canucks and Red Wings.

Following Jake Walman ending their last matchup with a penalty shot in overtime and busting out his 'griddy' celebration, there's been speculation the Canucks will look to respond as the teams will meet again on Thursday.

Insider Elliotte Friedman says it's likely the NHL will issue warnings to the two teams ahead of their next matchup.

After Morgan Rielly took matters into his own hands against Ridly Greig and the Sens, the league will want to avoid someone on Vancouver doing the same.

While "the code" may have been broken by Jake Walman, the Canucks could be in hot water if they try to respond.
