Lengthy absence confirmed for Jett Woo ahead of playoffs
Abbotsford Canucks defenseman Jett Woo has received a timeline for his ankle injury. Unfortunately, it looks like the team may be without the standout defender for an extensive period.
According to Rick Dhaliwal, Woo's timeline appears to be 4-6 weeks. His absence will be a massive loss for Abbotsford, as his spike in point production and physicality have been vital to the team's success thus far. He was called up twice to the big club earlier this season but did not suit up for what would be his first NHL game.
Woo, an RFA this summer, has 31 points this season, which placed him 14th among all AHL defensemen. This tops his previous best of 21 points from 2022-23. Also a physical presence, he has recorded over 90 penalty minutes in the last two seasons.
The 23-year-old Winnipeg native will look to rehab his injury over the coming weeks and hope his team can make a deep playoff run.
