MAJOR | NHL issues a release regarding Thatcher Demko
Thatcher Demko is making his mark among the Canucks best all time goaltenders.
On Thursday, he stopped 27 of 28 shots to hit the mark, adding to great season for the 28 year old. Demko will be in the mix for his first Vezina if he keeps up this pace for the rest of the season.
NHL ISSUES A STATEMENT
The NHL issued a statement announcing that Demko's win had helped him make Camucks hisptry and beat one of the many records held by Roberto Luongo:
With the Canucks 4-1 win over Detroit on Thursday, Demko became the first goaltender in the NHL to hit 30 wins, and the fastest to the mark in-season in Canucks history.
The record was previously held by Roberto Luongo, who hit 30 wins in 48 games in 2008-09.
