The Vancouver Canucks hit the ice at Rogers Arena for practice this morning in preparation for Wednesday's game against the Anaheim Ducks, but captain Quinn Hughes wasn't out there for very long.

On Saturday night against the Seattle Kraken, Quinn Hughes didn't play in the final 9 minutes of the third period, with head coach Rick Tocchet telling reporters afterwards that he tweaked something.

Quinn Hughes leaves Vancouver Canucks' practice early on Tuesday

Upon arriving back in Vancouver on Sunday, the Canucks decided to hold a practice rather than have the day off with Quinn Hughes absent and Rick Tocchet informing the media that what he's dealing with right now is not relating to an oblique injury he suffered back at the end of January and that it's a day-to-day situation.
Following an off-day on Monday and the Vancouver Canucks took to the ice this morning to prepare for tomorrow's game, there was a welcome sight as Quinn Hughes was among those participating.
When the team was doing drills, Hughes was in his regular spot alongside Filip Hronek, but after about 15 minutes on the ice, the captain left and did not return.
"the captain has also left the ice after about 15 minutes and a handful of drills. Very much looked like a guy battling through something" Jeff Paterson of Rink Wide: Vancouver said.
The Vancouver Canucks have relied on Quinn Hughes heavily this season and without him, it's hard to picture this team anywhere near a wild card spot in the Western Conference.
In 50 games, Hughes has put up 60 points (14 goals, 46 assists) - 23 more than Conor Garland who sits second on the team - along with 27 penalty minutes and is a plus-ten.
After today's practice, Rick Tocchet said that while they're not there yet, they may need to keep Quinn Hughes off the ice for seven days in the hopes he'll be back to normal for the team's final 15 games of the regular season.
"Rick Tocchet says they're not there yet, but he suggested it may get to point of keeping Quinn Hughes off the ice for seven days - if they think he could heal up and get back to his usual self for final 15 games" Jeff Paterson said.
Puck drop for tomorrow's game against the Anaheim Ducks is set for 7:30 pm PT and can be viewed on Sportsnet Pacific in the Vancouver region.
