We're over halfway through the 2024-25 season and it's perfect time to take a look at which players have been at the top of their game in the National Hockey League.
Quinn Hughes ranked high on TSN's Top-25 Players List
On Friday, TSN released their top-25 players list based on how they've performed throughout the 2024-25 season until now, with 12 experts from the Canadian broadcaster voting on where each player belongs.
For Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes, he comes in at sixth on TSN's list, jumping two spots from his pre-season ranking and is the highest defenseman, right ahead of Colorado's
Cale Makar who landed in seventh.
"Blue-chip blueliners, Vancouver's Quinn Hughes (No. 6) and Colorado's Cale Makar (No. 7), are up next.
The two will go head-to-head in the 4 Nations Face-Off in February and, no doubt, again in Norris Trophy voting.
Hughes has a defenceman-high 58 points, a shocking 23 more than any other Canuck, and Makar has 18 goals, most among NHL blueliners.
There is virtually no daylight between Hughes and Makar according to our experts - a mere one voting point separated them." TSN said.
Hughes, 25, has been outstanding for Vancouver this season, registering 58 points (14 goals, 44 assists), 27 penalty minutes and is a plus-15 in 46 games.
Without Quinn Hughes, the Vancouver Canucks would be in a very difficult position and likely would be outside of the playoff picture in the Western Conference.
Given his importance to the Vancouver Canucks along with how he's played this season, Quinn Hughes should probably ranked a bit higher on TSN's list and will absolutely get Hart Trophy votes after the 2024-25 campaign concludes.
