Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet was full of praise in a recent interview for Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby.

No matter what team you support, it's great to see the things Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby are able to accomplish at their age and the longevity they've had.
Sidney Crosby recently set an NHL record for the most consecutive point-per-game seasons and on Friday night, Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin tied Wayne Gretzky's goals record against the Chicago Blackhawks.

During a recent interview with Adam Kierszenblat of The Hockey News, Rick Tocchet has plenty of praise for Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby, highlighting their consistency and work ethic over their 20 years in the National Hockey League.
"Well, it's just amazing. We talk about consistency; their consistency level. Whether it's scoring or whether it's any facet of the game." Tocchet said.

He later went on to add, "The easy answer is work ethic. They're doing stuff that other players aren't doing. Sidney Crosby, he trains, you know, he'll be in Germany one year training the new way of training. He's always trying to look outside the box."

The Canucks head coach had an up-close look at the Crosby-Ovechkin rivalry for a number of years while he was an assistant with the Pittsburgh Penguins, helping them win back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2016 and 2017.
Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby have been a treat to watch for the last 20 years as they pushed each other to be better and whenever they decide to hang up the skates, not only will they be first ballot Hall of Famers, but without a doubt, they can be considered two of the greatest players of all-time.
On Sunday, Alexander Ovechkin has the opportunity to break Wayne Gretzky's record and become the National Hockey League's all-time leading goal scorer when the Capitals take on the New York Islanders.
Puck drop for that game is set for 9:30 am PT and fans here in Canada will be able to tune in on Sportsnet 360.
