Big collision leaves Daemon Hunt with injury
This afternoon, the Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche faced off in a preseason game. At 12:01 p.m. in the second period, an unfortunate collision led to an injury.
Spoked Z on Twitter (X) posted a video of the collision. Colorado's Tanner Kero catches Minnesota's Dameon Hunt with an accidental shoulder-to-the-jaw that knocks Hunt down to the ice.
Hunt, a 3rd round pick in 2020, was down momentarily and was helped off the ice. There was no penalty on the collision, and according to Corey Masisak, the 31-year-old, Kero did offer an apology to Hunt for the incident.
There is no update on Hunt, who will likely play in the AHL this year. The 21-year-old played 59 games with the Iowa Wild, scoring two goals and adding nine assists.
The Wild will hope the young defenceman will be healthy and can continue to develop this season.
