BREAKING | NHL makes an official announcement regarding Elias Pettersson
Now that the Draft Lottery is dealt with, it's now award season in the NHL and earlier today the league proceeded to make an announcement in that regard.
The NHL's Publication Relation Twitter account revealed every team's nomination for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy. In spite of being snubbed for the Selke, the Canucks' superstar was nominated for this award:
''Congrats, Petey! 👏
Elias Pettersson is our 2022.23 King Clancy Memorial Trophy nominee, presented to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution to his community.'' The Canucks have been captainless ever since Bo Horvat was traded, such an award surely speaks a great deal about the true nature of a player.
Pettey will definitely play a major part in the team's leadership moving forward, does this award make him the number-one candidate for captaincy in Vancouver?
