Beer Leaguer obliterates his opponent with a dirty hit in Coquitlam BC non-contact league and it's lighting up the web
The level of intensity in Beer Leagues tends to vary from one player to another. Some walk in there with the intention of winning the Stanley Cup, while others just want to drink a few beers with their buddies at the end of the day.
According to the reports. In a game in Coquitlam, BC. an accidental collision led to a payback cheap shot, and here's how the event was described by the renowned Pavel Barber:
''Crazy stuff in a lower division men's league game in Coquitlam, BC. The player accidentally collided with another player and another player randomly decides to steamroll him with a huge cheap shot as "payback." Even worse, I was told the guy had 3 goals and 1 assist and was playing well below his level... what a joke.''
On my side of things, these events are the reason why I've stopped playing recreational hockey on weekends, the intensity levels rarely match from one side to the other. More often than not, it leads to contacts like these.
